SeedSeller Training TV –
A sale is a sale. Every unit counts. Take whatever you can get.
Right?
Wrong. Dead wrong.
With harvest done or on the verge of wrapping up in most parts of the country, SeedSellers have been told to hit the country roads to get an order written, any order, at any level. Companies and sales reps are starting to feel the pressure to reach their sales goals as very few orders are on the books YTD.
But remember just because the pressure is mounting does not mean that one must panic and take any possible order they can get.
Minimum Order Size is one of the most important sales tactics you must follow. Draw a line in the sand and determine at what level you are going to commit the time, energy and passion into a new prospect. Are you worth 12 units? Or is your expertise and knowledge worth 120 units? That is what you and your company has to decide.
Minimum order sizes will not only help grow your sales territory but it also benefits the grower tremendously.
How?
Well, if you are really there to help a grower make significant changes in their operation and help them improve their overall profitability by increasing his/her yield you certainly can’t do that by selling them merely 12 units of seed.
Start with a quarter of land or a pallet of seed. At that commitment you now have the tools to make a real difference in a new prospects farming operation.
